Tourism Department Acts Against Illegal Service Providers at Mopa Airport
Panaji : In a continued effort to regulate tourism services and protect visitor interests, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, along with the Tourist Police Unit, has taken strict action against five individuals found violating the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
The individuals were apprehended near Manohar International Airport, Mopa, for allegedly engaging in unauthorized tourism-related activities that disrupted tourist movement and caused inconvenience to visitors.
Those booked include:
Mr. Muddasar Yasin Bepari (22), Bardez
Mr. Ummeasma Mohammad Jahagirdar (34), Salcette
Mr. Siraj Shabbir Ahmed Shadguppi, Salcette
Mr. Rohan Naresh Korgaonkar (36), Bardez
Mr. Badshah Mabub Khan (37), driver, Margao
They were produced before the Department for necessary action under Section 2(g) read with Section 26 of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
The Department reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that tourism activities in Goa are lawful and well-regulated, and warned that unauthorized operations will continue to face strict penalties to maintain the state’s tourism standards.
