Tea Seller’s Green Mission: Odisha Man Plants Trees Instead of Taking Money for Tea
Jatni (Odisha): In a heartwarming tale of environmental commitment, 61-year-old tea seller Dinabandhu Behera from Jatni town has been serving more than just tea for the past two decades. Instead of taking money from his customers, Behera requests them to plant a tree. “Planting one tree is like building seven temples,” he says, reflecting his deep-rooted belief in environmental conservation.
For over 20 years, Dinabandhu has been running this unique initiative without any financial support from NGOs or government schemes. His selfless mission has inspired many locals to contribute to greener surroundings, making him a local hero and a true symbol of sustainable living.
