Amit Shah to Chair ‘Manthan Baithak’ of Cooperation Ministers at Bharat Mandapam
New Delhi : Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, will chair the Manthan Baithak of Cooperation Ministers from all States and Union Territories on Monday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Cooperation, the high-level meeting aims to review progress and shape the future roadmap to strengthen India’s cooperative sector.
The Baithak will be attended by Cooperation Ministers, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries of Cooperation Departments from across the country. The main objective is to evaluate key initiatives, share best practices, and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation).
Key focus areas include setting up two lakh new Multi-purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and cooperatives in the dairy and fisheries sectors to boost rural service delivery. The meeting will also review progress on the World’s Largest Grain Storage Scheme.
Deliberations will also center on supporting new National Multi-state Cooperative Societies NCEL, NCOL, and BBSSL. States will present their progress under the “Cooperation Among Cooperatives” campaign and initiatives for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
