PSG Crush Inter Miami 4-0 to Reach Club World Cup Quarter-Finals
Joao Neves scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami 4-0 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, booking a spot in the Club World Cup quarter-finals. PSG struck early, with Neves heading home a free kick in the 6th minute. He doubled the lead in the 39th after a brilliant move involving Bradley Barcola and Fabian Ruiz.
Inter Miami struggled to respond, and their woes deepened when Tomas Aviles scored an own goal from a Desire Doue cross. Achraf Hakimi made it 4-0 just before halftime, reacting quickly after his shot hit the bar.
Despite a more active second half from Messi, including a saved header and a late free kick, PSG remained dominant. “We created a lot and were almost perfect,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique. Miami coach Javier Mascherano admitted the class gap but praised his players’ fight.
PSG now advance to face the winner of Flamengo vs Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.
