BJP MP Alleges Soviet Funding to 150 Congress MPs Citing CIA Document
New Delhi : BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has alleged that the Soviet Union funded over 150 Congress MPs during the Cold War era, citing a 2011 document reportedly released by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). According to Dubey, the Congress MPs acted as Russian “agents” under the leadership of late party leader HKL Bhagat. He further claimed that around 1,100 operatives from Russian intelligence agencies were present in India during that period, allegedly influencing bureaucrats and political decisions. The Congress party is yet to respond to the allegations, which have reignited debates over foreign interference in Indian politics during the Cold War.
