MLA Krishna Daji Salkar Inaugurates City Livelihood Centre at MMC
Mormugao : MLA Krishna Daji Salkar inaugurated the new City Livelihood Centre at the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC), aimed at empowering local Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Hon. Minister for Panchayat, Industries and Protocol Shri Mauvin Godinho and MMC Chairperson Shri Girish Borkar were present for the occasion.
The center, a joint initiative of MMC and the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), is the second such facility in Goa. It offers SHGs from Mormugao taluka a permanent space to display and sell their products, including eatables, handicrafts, and other unique items.
Ms. Celsa Antao was felicitated for her support to SHG women. Prizes and certificates were awarded to winners of various competitions. MLA Salkar appreciated the efforts of community organizers Ms. Nandita and Ms. Laxmi, along with MMC councillors and the entire team.
He urged the public to visit the center and support SHG women by purchasing their locally-made products.
