District Magistrate Chairs NCORD Meeting to Strengthen Anti-Drug Measures in South Goa
Margao : District Magistrate of South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, chaired a crucial meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) at the Collectorate Office, South Goa.
The meeting was convened with the primary objective of reviewing the current status of drug-related issues in the district and to further strengthen inter-departmental coordination in the ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
Key stakeholders from various departments, including police, education, health, excise, social welfare, and local bodies, participated in the meeting. Discussions focused on sharing data, identifying drug hotspots, and implementing preventive strategies at the grassroots level.
Ms. Cleetus emphasized the need for a collaborative and sustained approach to curb the drug menace and directed all departments to intensify awareness campaigns, particularly among the youth, and ensure strict enforcement of laws.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to enhance surveillance, increase community engagement, and ensure effective rehabilitation measures for affected individuals.
