CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Restored Sheesh Mahal at DDA Shalimar Bagh, Slams Kejriwal’s Legacy
New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday inaugurated the restored heritage structures and the iconic Sheesh Mahal at DDA’s Shalimar Bagh. During the event, she took a sharp dig at former CM Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of indulging in extravagance during his tenure.
Speaking to the media, CM Gupta said, “The ex-CM built a Sheesh Mahal for his personal pleasure and comfort. In contrast, the Sheesh Mahal we have restored today has been dedicated to the public. This is the key difference between the previous governments and the current administration — we serve the people, not ourselves.”
The restoration of Sheesh Mahal is part of the government’s broader initiative to preserve Delhi’s cultural and historical heritage. Officials stated that the project involved conservation efforts aimed at reviving the Mughal-era architecture and making the site accessible to the public.
The CM’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in the capital, with the ruling party aiming to contrast its governance style with that of the previous AAP government.
