Congress Demands Probe into Drug Allegations Involving BJP Leaders, Issues 8-Day Ultimatum
Panaji : In a strongly worded statement at a press conference today, South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes, Media Chairman Amarnath Panjikar, and General Secretary Adv. Jitendra Gaonkar, accompanied by Virendra Shirodkar, Savio D’Silva, and Krishna Naik, demanded immediate action on serious drug-related allegations exchanged between a BJP MLA and a former Deputy Chief Minister.
The Congress leaders urged the Goa government, led by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, to conduct a fair and transparent investigation into both individuals, stating that such grave accusations cannot be dismissed or overlooked.
Issuing a stern warning, the Congress has given the BJP’s double engine government an ultimatum of eight days to initiate action, failing which they threatened to launch statewide agitation and explore legal avenues.
