Aadhaar Authentication Surges to 230 Crore in June 2025, Face Authentication Hits Record High
Aadhaar authentication transactions surged to 229.33 crore in June 2025, marking a 7.8% year-on-year increase, as per UIDAI data. This growth surpasses both May 2025 and June 2024 figures, underscoring Aadhaar’s expanding role in India’s digital ecosystem. Cumulatively, Aadhaar authentication transactions have now crossed 15,452 crore since inception.
The AI/ML-powered Aadhaar Face Authentication system, developed by UIDAI, also witnessed record usage with 15.87 crore transactions in June 2025—up from 4.61 crore a year ago. With nearly 175 crore face authentications done so far, the feature is gaining popularity due to its convenience and security. It is operational on both Android and iOS platforms.
Over 100 entities, including government departments, financial institutions, oil companies, and telecom providers, are leveraging face authentication to deliver services seamlessly.
Additionally, 39.47 crore Aadhaar-based e-KYC transactions were carried out in June. This service continues to enhance customer onboarding and supports ease of doing business, especially in the financial services sector.
