Department of ITE&C Distributes Laptops to Tribal Students at Sanguem Empowerment Camp
Sanguem : As part of the nationwide “Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan,” the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C), led by Hon’ble Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, distributed 22 laptops to meritorious ST/SC students during the Awareness & Benefit Saturation Camp in Sanguem.
The event, organized by the Directorate of Tribal Welfare, was inaugurated by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. Dignitaries including Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, and Shri Ganesh Gaonkar also participated.
The Department showcased key initiatives such as free ICT training, Goa Online, Gramin Mitra, and broadband expansion under Har Ghar Fibre and BharatNet 3.0, aimed at promoting digital inclusion in tribal areas.
The camp also offered free health screenings, PMJAY card registrations, and welfare services, creating an integrated model of connectivity and care.
Held under the banner of 150 years of Janjatiya Gaurav, the event reaffirmed Goa’s commitment to inclusive, technology-driven tribal empowerment.
