Electoral Roll Revision in Bihar Sees Rapid Progress, Over 1.04 Crore Forms Collected

Patna : The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar is moving swiftly, with grassroots-level efforts ensuring no eligible voter is left out. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), over 1.04 crore Enumeration Forms 13.19% of Bihar’s 7.90 crore registered electors have been collected as of Saturday.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have distributed around 94% of the forms, covering over 7.38 crore voters. More than 77,000 BLOs are visiting homes to assist voters, often capturing and uploading live photographs to ease the documentation process.

To encourage broader participation, partially filled forms are available for download on the ECI portal and ECINET App, through which completed forms can also be submitted.

An additional 20,603 BLOs are being deployed to speed up the process, supported by nearly 4 lakh volunteers including government staff, NCC and NSS members to assist vulnerable groups like senior citizens and PwDs.

The revision drive is being overseen by 239 EROs, 963 AEROs, 38 DEOs, and the state CEO, with support from 1.54 lakh Booth Level Agents appointed by political parties.
