India, Brazil Sign Six Key Agreements to Boost Bilateral Ties
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Brazil, India and Brazil signed six pivotal agreements on Tuesday, enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors. The pacts include collaboration on combating international terrorism and transnational organized crime, and an MoU on sharing large-scale digital solutions for digital transformation.
In a major step toward sustainable development, both nations agreed to deepen ties in renewable energy and agricultural research. A specific MoU was inked between Brazil’s EMBRAPA and India’s Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
Another agreement covers the exchange and mutual protection of classified information, while a separate MoU was signed on intellectual property between India’s DPIIT and Brazil’s Secretariat of Competitiveness.
To further economic engagement, India and Brazil announced the creation of a ministerial-level mechanism to monitor and enhance trade, commerce, and investment. These agreements signal a significant strengthening of strategic and economic ties between the two major democracies.
