MLA Krishna Daji Salkar Inaugurates Renovation Work of Ganapati Visarjan Tank at Dactolem, Mangor
Vasco: With the Ganesh Chaturthi festival fast approaching, MLA Krishna Daji Salkar inaugurated the renovation work of the Ganapati Visarjan tank at Dactolem, Mangor on Wednesday. The much-awaited project aims to ensure a safe, clean, and convenient environment for devotees to immerse Ganesh idols during the festive season.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Salkar said, “The tank was in a shabby and neglected condition for years. Local residents had repeatedly demanded its renovation, and I am happy to fulfill that promise ahead of the upcoming festival.”
The comprehensive repair and beautification work includes desilting, strengthening of tank boundaries, and improving overall accessibility for the public.
Also present at the event were Ward Councillor Amey Chopdekar and President of Goa Bhandari Samaj (Mormugao Taluka), Vishal Naik, along with local residents and civic officials.
The initiative is seen as a step towards preserving tradition while ensuring public safety and hygiene during the Visarjan rituals.
