Panaji Goa Honoured with Agriculture Leadership Award 2025 for Excellence in Horticulture Sector
In recognition of the innovative and impactful work done in the horticulture sector of the state, Goa has been honoured with the prestigious national-level Agriculture Leadership Award 2025. This honour has been conferred due to various initiatives implemented under the leadership of Goa Horticulture Corporation Chairman and Mayem MLA Premendra Shet.
Several schemes have been implemented in the state for the development of fruit orchards, including the plantation of improved grafted saplings, provision of modern irrigation equipment, guidance for organic farming, farmer training camps, establishment of agro-processing centres, and the creation of effective marketing networks.
Due to the successful implementation of these initiatives, Goa’s horticulture sector has received a significant boost, resulting in increased production and income for the state’s farmers.
“This award is a recognition of the hard work of Goan farmers,” said MLA Premendra Shet after receiving the award. He further added, “Thanks to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and the active support of the government, Goa has become a model in the field of agriculture and horticulture.”
