CM Pramod Sawant Inaugurates New Directorate of Prosecution Office; Distributes Laptops to Prosecutors
Panaji : In a significant move towards institutional strengthening and digital empowerment, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the new office premises of the Directorate of Prosecution, Government of Goa, today. The event was marked by the distribution of laptops to all government prosecutors, signaling a firm push towards digitisation within the legal and judicial framework.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, Advocate General Shri Devidas Pangam, senior officials, and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “This is a step towards our commitment to strengthen the rule of law through institutional empowerment, digitisation, and infrastructure development. The Directorate of Prosecution plays a vital yet often unsung role in ensuring timely and fair justice.”
He further highlighted the government’s long-term vision: “As part of our Viksit Goa 2037 roadmap, we aim to make every institution in the state future-ready, efficient, and people-centric.”
The Directorate of Prosecution, which plays a crucial role in representing the state in criminal cases and legal proceedings, will benefit significantly from the upgraded infrastructure and digital tools. The new laptops are expected to improve case handling, coordination, and legal research, enhancing overall prosecutorial efficiency.
This initiative aligns with the Goa Government’s broader efforts to modernize public institutions and deliver faster, more transparent justice to its citizens.
