Cash Bag Video Surfaces at Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat’s Home Amid I-T Notice, Minister Alleges Conspiracy
Mumbai: A day after Maharashtra’s Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat received a notice from the Income Tax Department over alleged disproportionate assets, a purported video has surfaced showing a bag full of cash at his residence.
The video, which is now circulating widely on social media, shows a bag believed to contain bundles of cash placed next to Minister Shirsat, who appears to be casually smoking in the footage. The timing of the video’s release just 24 hours after the I-T notice has raised eyebrows and sparked political controversy in the state.
Responding to the clip, Minister Shirsat has strongly refuted the allegations and dismissed the video as “fabricated” and “part of a well-thought-out conspiracy.” He alleged that he was being “spied on” and targeted with the intention of tarnishing his public image ahead of the upcoming political season.
“This is nothing but an orchestrated attempt to defame me. Someone is clearly keeping surveillance on me illegally. I will expose those behind this conspiracy,” Shirsat said, adding that he would take legal action.
The I-T Department has not yet issued a formal comment on the viral video, but sources confirm that the probe into Shirsat’s financial dealings is ongoing.
Opposition parties have demanded a thorough and impartial investigation, calling the footage “deeply disturbing” and a potential indicator of corruption at the highest levels.
Further updates are awaited as the story continues to unfold.
