Preliminary Report on Air India Crash: Fuel Cutoff Led to Engine Failure Seconds After Takeoff

Ahmedabad: The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its preliminary findings into the tragic crash of an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner that claimed 260 lives in Ahmedabad.

According to the report, both engines of the aircraft lost power almost immediately after takeoff due to a fuel supply cut. The AAIB stated, “Engine 1 and Engine 2 fuel cutoff switches transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF just one second apart,” suggesting a critical failure in the aircraft’s fuel control system.

Investigators are now focusing on whether the cutoff was due to a mechanical fault, human error, or possible sabotage. The final report is expected to provide more clarity after analysis of cockpit voice and flight data recorders.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety protocols and technical integrity of the Dreamliner fleet. Further updates from AAIB are awaited as the investigation continues.
