Bye-Elections Announced for Arambol and Ponda Panchayats on August 2
Panaji : Bye-elections to fill vacant seats in two Village Panchayats Ward No. IV of Arambol Panchayat in Pernem Taluka and Ward No. II of Durbhat Panchayat in Ponda Taluka will be held on August 2, 2025, as per a notification issued by the authorities.
The counting of votes is scheduled for August 4, 2025.
The District Collectors of North and South Goa have been appointed as the District Election Officers, while the Mamlatdars of the respective Talukas will serve as Returning Officers. Additionally, the Awal Karkuns in the Mamlatdar offices have been designated as Assistant Returning Officers.
The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect from July 11, 2025, and will remain in force within the jurisdiction of the respective wards until the completion of the election process.
Election Schedule:
Filing of Nominations: July 15 to July 22, 2025 (except Sunday, July 20), from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Scrutiny of Nominations: July 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards
Withdrawal of Nominations: July 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Polling Date: August 2, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Counting of Votes: August 4, 2025, from 8:00 AM until completion
