NABARD Goa Celebrates 44th Foundation Day with Focus on Rural Cooperative Development
The Goa Regional Office of NABARD celebrated its 44th Foundation Day at the Goa State Cooperative Bank (Goa StCB) Head Office, Panaji. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Vasant Jugale, noted agriculture economist and cooperative sector expert. Also present were Shri Prabhakar Jha, Regional Director, RBI, and Shri Santosh Kenkre, Chairman, Committee of Administrators, Goa StCB.
Shri Sandeep Dharkar, GM and Officer-in-Charge of NABARD Goa, opened the event by highlighting NABARD’s four-decade-long contribution to rural and cooperative development in India, with a focus on Goa.
In his keynote address, Dr. Jugale emphasized the cooperative sector as a “third way” of development and introduced the concept of “Coopreneurs.” He lauded NABARD’s role in empowering SHGs, PACS, and FPOs.
Shri Jha highlighted NABARD’s origins from RBI and its synergy with the apex bank in rural finance. Shri Kenkre praised NABARD’s support to Goa StCB.
Three top-performing mPACS and Goa StCB were felicitated for excellence in governance and rural financial services, marking the event’s high point.
