MLA Jennifer Monserrate Meets Taxi Union Representatives, Assures Support Over Goa Transport Aggregator Guidelines 2025
Panaji : In a proactive effort to address the concerns of traditional taxi operators, MLA Jennifer Monserrate held a meeting with representatives of the North and South Goa Taxi Union. The meeting focused on the proposed Goa Transport Aggregator Guidelines 2025, which have sparked apprehension among local taxi operators regarding their livelihood and long-standing services.
During the interaction, the union members conveyed their concerns and offered constructive suggestions on how the new guidelines could be more inclusive of traditional operators. They stressed the need to protect the interests of thousands of Goan families dependent on this sector.
MLA Monserrate assured the delegation that their concerns have been taken seriously. “I fully support our traditional taxi operators who have long served Goa’s tourism and local commuting needs. I will be taking up this issue with the Hon’ble Chief Minister to ensure that a balanced and fair solution is found that upholds their livelihood,” she said.
The dialogue marks an important step toward finding a middle ground that accommodates innovation in transport while safeguarding the interests of Goa’s traditional taxi sector.
