Goa Launches State’s First Private 100% Solar-Powered Cruise Boat
Panaji: In a major stride towards clean energy and sustainable tourism, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated Goa’s first private fully solar-powered passenger and cruise vessel, M.V. LRAJ GREEN Solution, in the presence of Union Minister Shripad Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar, and other dignitaries.
The indigenously built vessel, developed by Goa Solar Power House, is a landmark innovation in marine transport. Operated entirely on solar energy, the boat is 100% emission-free and noise-free, equipped with advanced digital and smart safety features.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sawant said, “This project is a significant milestone in Goa’s journey towards clean energy, eco-tourism, and marine innovation. It also reflects the growing synergy between technology, sustainability, and tourism.”
He further encouraged private sector participation in green innovations and reiterated the state government’s commitment to a Swayampurna, smart, and sustainable Goa, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The boat is built entirely in Goa, for Goa, and is expected to set a precedent for eco-friendly tourism initiatives in the state and beyond.
