Amit Shah Highlights Cooperative Growth, Rural Empowerment at ‘Sahkar & Rojgar Utsav’ in Rajasthan
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed the ‘Sahkar & Rojgar Utsav’ in Jaipur, celebrating the International Year of Cooperatives – 2025. Joined by Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Shah highlighted the vital role of cooperatives in rural and agricultural development.
He virtually inaugurated 24 grain warehouses, 64 millet outlets, distributed ₹12 crore loans to 1,400 cowherds, and launched micro-ATMs for 2,300 milk committees. White Revolution 2.0 and new cooperative platforms were also introduced.
Shah emphasized PM Modi’s vision, noting cooperatives’ contributions in fertilizer, sugar, and grain procurement, with over 31 crore people engaged in 8.5 lakh cooperatives. He cited 61 initiatives in four years, including PACS computerization and creation of 40,000 new units.
Praising Rajasthan’s agricultural output and the state government’s reforms, Shah highlighted efforts against paper leaks, MoUs worth ₹35 lakh crore, and welfare measures. He lauded Modi’s leadership in economic growth, poverty alleviation, and national security through strong counter-terrorism measures.
