Panaji : In a significant move towards making Goa a leader in sustainable development, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL) and the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA).

The MoU aims to facilitate the development of over 300 MW of renewable energy projects across the state. These projects will not only enhance Goa’s clean energy capacity but also contribute to the creation of green jobs, reduce carbon emissions, and strengthen sustainable infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sawant said, “This partnership is a major step towards achieving a Green Goa. It reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability and energy self-reliance. The collaboration with NTPC REL will accelerate our transition to renewable energy and provide long-term economic and ecological benefits for the people of Goa.”

Officials from NTPC REL and GEDA expressed confidence in the successful execution of the project, which is expected to include a mix of solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions.

The initiative aligns with the state’s broader mission to promote clean energy, combat climate change, and ensure a greener future for coming generations.
