Goa’s Wild Vegetables, Trees, and Traditional Farming Are Its True Wealth”: Damu Naik
Canacona : Goa BJP President Shri Damu Naik stated, “Together with nature is true Goa. Goa’s trees, plants, orchards, and traditional vegetables are the state’s wealth, and preserving them is an integral part of our culture.”
He was speaking at the “Wild Vegetable Festival” organized jointly by the Balram Charitable Trust, Goa Biodiversity Management Committee, and the Directorate of Agriculture. The event, held especially in the Canacona region, aimed to revive interest in traditional wild vegetables and offer people a taste of these local delicacies.
The festival saw the presence of Canacona MLA and Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Hon’ble Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, as well as Power Minister Shri Sudin Dhavalikar. During the event, Damu Naik interacted with the hardworking farmers present and appreciated their efforts.
He emphasized, “Such initiatives will certainly help preserve and pass on Goa’s traditional food heritage to future generations.” He also extended heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all members of the Balram Charitable Trust and associated organizations for organizing the festival.
