Govt Releases Blood Compatibility Chart to Boost Awareness
New Delhi : The Government has released a blood compatibility chart to spread awareness about safe blood transfusions. As per the chart, O-negative is the universal donor group, eligible to donate to all blood types. AB-positive is the universal recipient and can receive blood from any group.
Key details include:
A-negative can donate to A-, A+, AB-, and AB+.
B-positive can receive from B+, B-, O+, and O-.
AB-positive can only donate to AB-positive.
Officials stressed the importance of knowing one’s blood type to help during emergencies. The chart is being circulated in hospitals and public spaces under a national awareness campaign. Citizens are encouraged to participate in voluntary blood donation drives to ensure availability of compatible blood for patients in need.
