FTII, MFSCDCL Sign MoU to Boost Film & Media Training in Maharashtra
Mumbai : In a major boost to Maharashtra’s creative sector, the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and the Maharashtra Film, Stage & Cultural Development Corporation Ltd. (MFSCDCL), Mumbai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to enhance skill development in film and media across the state.
The MoU was exchanged by Smt. Swati Mhase-Patil (MFSCDCL) and Shri Dhiraj Singh (FTII) in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, FTII Chairman R. Madhavan, and senior officials.
The collaboration will offer structured, certified short-term courses in filmmaking, television production, and digital media at MFSCDCL centres in Goregaon, Kolhapur, Prabhadevi, and Karjat.
CM Fadnavis emphasized the growing orange economy and the need for certified talent, while Minister Shelar highlighted the initiative’s role in empowering rural students and promoting Maharashtra’s filming destinations.
Courses will include AI tools, dubbing, voiceover, and cinematography, aiming to integrate FTII’s academic expertise with MFSCDCL’s outreach, supporting entrepreneurship and cultural innovation.
This initiative aligns with the Centre’s vision of empowering India’s creative economy.
