Fire Breaks Out in Air India Flight After Landing in Delhi; All Passengers Safe
On Tuesday, Air India flight AI315 caught fire shortly after landing and parking at the gate upon arrival from Hong Kong to Delhi. Air India stated that the fire broke out in the aircraft’s Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), which had automatically shut down as per system design. At the time, passengers were disembarking from the flight. All passengers and crew members are safe. The aircraft has been grounded for further investigation, and regulatory authorities have been informed.
Earlier, an Air India Boeing 737 flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed shortly after takeoff. The crash occurred near the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. Of the 242 people on board, 241 died in the accident, with only one passenger surviving.
