Goa Animal Breeding & Domestication (Regulation & Compensation) Bill, 2025 Passed in Goa Legislative Assembly
A significant step has been taken in Goa to ensure responsible and regulated animal breeding. The Goa Animal Breeding & Domestication (Regulation & Compensation) Bill, 2025 has been successfully passed in the Legislative Assembly.
As per this landmark legislation:
The keeping and breeding of ferocious animals is completely prohibited.
Legal provisions for compensation have been introduced in cases of injury or harm caused by animals.
Responsible breeders and livestock owners will be supported, while unregulated and unsafe practices will be curbed.
Mandatory registration, penalties, and swift administrative action will ensure accountability.
This law emphasizes public safety as well as animal welfare, and represents Goa’s implementation of humane and progressive policies aligned with the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
