Major Announcement by CM: Pre-1972 Houses to be Recognized as Settlement Property
Panaji: In a significant decision, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced that any unauthorized houses existing before 1972 and appearing on the survey plan will now be recognized as “Settlement Property.”
The Chief Minister stated, “Our aim is to grant legal recognition to the ancestral homes of Goans as settlement properties. This move will help secure ownership rights and bring legal stability to thousands of families.”
He further appealed to all concerned citizens to initiate the required documentation and legal process starting from 1st August 2025.
This decision is expected to bring relief and legal protection to many Goan families owning pre-1972 houses.
