Parliament Adjourned Amid Bihar Voter Roll Row

New Delhi : Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till July 28 amid continuous protests by opposition MPs demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar. The Lok Sabha was adjourned twice, with chaos disrupting the scheduled introduction of private members’ bills. Over 200 MPs were expected to present proposals.

Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproar, with opposition MPs demanding a discussion under Rule 267. Deputy Chairman Harivansh rejected the notices, citing breaches of decorum.

Speaker Om Birla earlier held an all-party meeting to break the impasse and urged cooperation for a debate on “Operation Sindoor” on July 28.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan took oath as Rajya Sabha MP. Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, staged protests outside Parliament.
