Calangute: Calangute, one of Goa’s most popular tourist destinations, has witnessed a significant surge in tourist footfall this season. According to official statistics, the number of tourists to Calangute has increased by 30% compared to the same period last year.
A large number of tourists have been visiting Calangute with the start on the tourism season with 25% increase in tourist arrivals compared to 2023. Local businesses reported 30-40% increase in revenue with business attributing surge to improved infrastructure and marketing efforts
“We’ve never seen such a rush before,” s aid a owner of a prominent Restaurant. “Our sales have increased by 35% this season. We’re struggling to keep up with demand, but it’s a good problem to have.”
Similar stories are emerging from local hotels, shops, and water sports operators.
“We’ve had to hire additional staff to manage the influx of tourists,” said a water sports operator
As part of the Government Initiatives the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has launched several initiatives to promote Calangute as a premier destination
