CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Witnesses Historic MoU Signing for Animal Welfare Centre.
Goa, October 28, 2024: In a significant move to promote animal welfare, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Anil Agarwal Foundation and the Sankhali Municipal Council. This landmark agreement paves the way for the establishment and operation of a state-of-the-art Animal Welfare Centre at Mantralaya, Porvorim.
The Anil Agarwal Foundation, under its initiative “The Animal Care Organization (TACO),” aims to create a world-class, sustainable, and scalable ecosystem for animal welfare ¹. With this MoU, the foundation will bring its expertise to Goa, providing shelter, veterinary care, and conservation efforts to animals in need.
Key Highlights of the MoU include Establishment of Animal Welfare Centre: A modern facility will be set up at Mantralaya, Porvorim, to provide shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation services to animals Conservation Efforts: The centre will focus on wildlife conservation, with collaborations with local authorities and experts to protect endangered species and Community Engagement: The initiative will promote animal welfare awareness, education, and community involvement.
