Kannadigas celebrate 68 Kannada language day in Goa.
Karnataka residents celebrated 68th independence of Kannada Rajya Bhashya Utsav at Sant Gadge Maharj hall in Porvorim on Sunday like every year.
The function was celebrated with great pomp and gaity under the presidentship of Mr Murli Mohan Reddy.
On the auspicious occasion Dr Shivkumar Maharaj Swami and Chandrashekhara Maharaj Swami ji from Hukkeri mutt graced and blessed the function.
Around 3000 Kannadigas and Kannada lovers from all over Goa and Karnataka attended the day long function.
The function organisers claim that there are over 3.5 lakh kannadigas staying Goa and active in all spheres of life and development of Goa.
The programme was organised by Goa Kannadiga Sangh.
On the occasion North Goa MP, Mr Sripad Naik, the Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, the I-T minister, Mr Rohan Khaunte, and others wished them while ex-chief minister, of Goa Mr Chandrakant Babu Kawlekar also attended the function.
Every year these Kannadigas celebrate Kannada language independence day every year in Goa, this time they have celebrsted in Porvorim.
