Indian Diaspora in UAE Leads Pre-International Day of Yoga 2025 Celebrations at Iconic Landmarks
Dubai, UAE : As part of the countdown to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, members of the Indian diaspora across the United Arab Emirates have launched a series of yoga sessions at some of the nation’s most iconic landmarks. These community-driven events aim to promote wellness, mindfulness, and unity under this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The Arab Region Yoga Instructor Council kickstarted the month-long lead-up with a striking session at Dubai’s Museum of the Future, a symbol of innovation and global collaboration. Participants performed a range of yoga asanas and breathing techniques amid the futuristic backdrop, emphasizing yoga’s relevance in the modern world.
In another notable event, members of the Indian People’s Forum MP Council demonstrated yoga postures and pranayama exercises at the Dubai Frame, the world’s largest picture frame and a renowned architectural marvel. The session drew public attention to yoga’s growing role in global health and mental wellness.
Meanwhile, in Sharjah, the Friends of India community group hosted a session at the scenic 1000 Palm Park, further reinforcing the message of physical and mental well-being through traditional yoga practices.
These activities are part of a broader campaign to raise awareness and encourage participation ahead of June 21st, when millions around the world will celebrate the International Day of Yoga. The Indian community in the UAE—one of the country’s largest expatriate groups—has consistently played a key role in promoting cultural, health, and wellness initiatives that reflect India’s rich heritage and global contributions.
The 2025 IDY theme reflects India’s commitment to sustainable living and holistic health, promoting the idea that individual well-being is intrinsically linked to planetary health.
