Goa heritage festival commenced at Saligao with great Fervour and excitement.
SALIGAO: The Department of Tourism, Govt.of Goa, organized the Goa Heritage Festival 2024, a three-day extravaganza dedicated to celebrating the state’s rich culture and heritage. The Festival was inaugurated at the Saligao Football Ground by Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte, alongside Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira, Director of Tourism Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, and local Panchayat representatives.
A large crowd of attendees witnessed the festival’s opening day and were greeted with dynamic performances by the acclaimed bands Sky High and Pure Magic. The vibrant set by Carlos and Friends – Talking Drums enthralled audiences and perfectly launched the festivities. Additionally, a traditional fashion show highlighted the exquisite craftsmanship and timeless elegance of Goan attire, offering a visual feast for fashion enthusiasts. The renowned Kanta Gaude Group presented captivating traditional dances, embodying the rhythmic soul of Goan culture.
The festival showcases the vibrant culture of Goa with around 50 stalls offering traditional food and craftsmanship.
we are trying to showcase the the heritage of goa to the tourists beyond beaches and the tourists want to experience not only the beaches but even the heritage of Goa and this festival has a mix of everything and the tourist can also enjoy the Goan flavors and the breweries of Goa and Saligao is the main Gateway for the tourist to the heritage of Goa” Said tourism minister Rohan Khaunte.
