ABC Arambol emerged winners of the Anjuna Gymkhana cup with a 1-0 win over Guardian Angel SC
In the finals of the Anjuna Gymkhana Cup 2024, Guardian Angel S.C. faced off against ABC Arambol S.C. Both teams exhibited intense work rate throughout the tournament. The finals started with balanced offensive gameplay. However, a back pass from an Arambol defender led to a mishap when the goalkeeper failed to control the ball, giving it to the opponent striker, who failed to convert the opportunity.
As the game progressed, both teams relentlessly attacked each other’s goals, striving to take the lead. Guardian Angel S.C. missed another chance to score. In the dying minutes, Arambol clinched the match with the only goal, scored by Cyprian Rodrigues.
The winners received ₹1,11,111 and a trophy, while Guardian Angel S.C. took home ₹77,777 and a trophy. Individual awards and cash prizes were given to the Best Goalkeeper (Dietmar), Best Defender (Vivek), Best Midfielder (Airen), Best Forward (Cyprian), and the Upcoming Player of Anjuna (Anthony). The chief guest for the day was Mrs. Delilah Lobo, with Mr. Laxmidas Chimulkar as the guest of honour, along with other dignitaries.
