Scooter rider killed in an accident between scooter and bus at Reis magos.
Saligao:, a scooter rider lost his life after being struck by a tour bus close to Canara Bank in Reis Magos
According to Porvorim police, Sadanand K. Surlikar (61), of Betim, was riding his scooter towards Reis Magos when a tourist bus from Candolim knocked him down as he was making a right turn close to the Canara bank.
Surlikar was taken to the Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim for treatment after suffering severe head injuries. However, the on-call doctors pronounced him dead at the scene.
Ratnakar Naik, a 47-year-old bus driver from Quepem, was later taken into custody by Porvorim police, who also filed a complaint against him under Sections 279 and 304(A) of the IPC. Porvorim ASI Devanand Redkar is looking into the situation.
