CM Pramod Sawant Attends 9th National Conference of Ocean Society of India (OSICON-25) at CSIR-NIO
Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended and addressed the 9th National Conference of the Ocean Society of India (OSICON-25), organized by CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO). On the occasion, he released the conference souvenir in the presence of CSIR-NIO Director Prof. Sunil Kumar Singh, OSI President Kurian N.P., General Secretary R. Muni Murari, Convener Dr. Jaya Kumar Seelam, and other esteemed dignitaries.
Expressing his delight at the participation of over 650 delegates and experts at the conference, CM Sawant extended a warm welcome to all attendees in Goa. He also presented various awards under OSI to distinguished experts, acknowledging their contributions to ocean studies and conservation.

The Chief Minister commended CSIR-NIO for its significant role in scientific research and conservation efforts related to the oceans. He reiterated the Goa government’s commitment to supporting studies and initiatives aimed at preserving the marine ecosystem and ensuring sustainable ocean conservation.
The three-day OSICON-25 conference brings together leading experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss advancements in oceanography, marine research, and conservation strategies.
