Special Train to Prayagraj Flagged Off for Mahakumbh Under Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Scheme

Panaji : A special train carrying devotees to Prayagraj for the grand Mahakumbh was ceremoniously flagged off today under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Scheme. The event took place in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Social Welfare Minister Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, MLA Shri Digambar Kamat, MLA Shri Rajesh Faldessai, BJP Goa President Shri Damu Naik, Shri Sidharth Kuncalienker, and other dignitaries.

The initiative, launched by the Goa government, aims to facilitate spiritual journeys for devotees, allowing them to participate in one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. Addressing the gathering, CM Pramod Sawant emphasized the significance of the Mahakumbh and the government’s commitment to promoting cultural and religious tourism.

“The Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Scheme is a testament to our dedication to ensuring that Goan devotees get an opportunity to experience the divine energy of Mahakumbh. This journey will not only be a pilgrimage but also a moment of spiritual enrichment,” CM Sawant said.

Hundreds of enthusiastic devotees boarded the special train, embarking on this sacred expedition to take part in the “Amrut Snan” and other holy rituals at Prayagraj. The Mahakumbh, held once every 12 years, is expected to witness millions of pilgrims from across the country.

This initiative has been welcomed by the people of Goa, with beneficiaries of the scheme expressing gratitude for the government’s support in making their pilgrimage hassle-free. The flag-off ceremony concluded with prayers and chants, marking the beginning of a spiritually enriching journey.
