38th Goa Investment Promotion Board Meeting Approves ₹733 Cr Investment in 9 Projects

Panjim : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired the 38th Board Meeting of the Goa Investment Promotion Board (IPB) at Mahalaxmi, Altinho, Panjim. The meeting was attended by Industries and Panchayat Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho, MLA and GIDC Chairman Shri Aleixo Reginaldo, GCCI Chairman and industrialist Shri Shrinivas Dempo, along with other Board members.

The Board approved nine investment projects with a total investment potential of ₹733 crores, expected to generate employment opportunities for 2,319 individuals. The approved projects span key sectors, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, warehousing, machine tools manufacturing, and beverage production.

A significant decision taken during the meeting was the granting of industry status to the logistics sector in Goa. Under this new classification, the Board approved M/s Express Machines and Scaffolding Pvt. Ltd. to set up a large warehousing facility in the state.

Among the notable approvals were the expansion projects by Procter & Gamble, through its subsidiary Gillette Diversified Operations Pvt. Ltd., and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.—two multinational corporations that have chosen Goa as their manufacturing hub over competing global locations.

Further, the Board approved the expansion of an eco-tourism project in the Quepem region, which is now branded under Indian Hotels Corporation Ltd. This reflects Goa’s growing reputation as a prime destination for both industrial investment and tourism.

The meeting also included discussions on the restructuring of the organizational framework of Goa IPB, the development of the Goa IPB Land Bank, and other investment facilitation measures. CM Sawant emphasized that Goans should be given priority in employment opportunities within the state, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening Ease of Doing Business and realizing the vision of Viksit Goa.
