CM Pramod Sawant Attends Convocation, Inaugurates New Courses at Netra Jyothi Institute
Udupi : Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant attended and addressed the convocation ceremony at the Netra Jyothi Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Udupi. He also inaugurated new academic courses at the institute in the presence of MP Kota Shrinivas Poojari, MLA Yashpal Anand Suvarna, MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education Dr. Ballal, and Trustee of Netra Jyothi Trust Dr. Krishnaprasad Kudlu, along with other dignitaries.
During his address, CM Sawant congratulated the graduating students as they embark on their professional journeys in the field of Allied Health Sciences. He also commended the Netra Jyothi Institute for expanding its academic offerings with the introduction of new courses, including Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, M.Sc. Optometry, M.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology, Master of Public Health, and Master in Hospital Administration.

CM Sawant lauded the efforts of the Netra Jyothi Charitable Trust for its outstanding contributions to the healthcare sector. He highlighted the Trust’s strong association with Goa through initiatives like the Prasad Netralaya – Vision for All campaign, which has screened over two lakh individuals, distributed 60,000 free spectacles, and facilitated more than 2,800 surgeries.
“The students pursuing these specialized courses will gain the knowledge and practical skills necessary to serve society and the healthcare industry effectively,” CM Sawant stated. He extended his best wishes to the newly enrolled students, encouraging them to make their education a journey of inspiration, compassion, and service to humanity.
