Calangute : Gauravaddo edged past Umtavaddo with a narrow 1-0 victory to book their place in the semi-finals of the Santa Maria Football Tournament, thanks to a clinical first-half goal from striker Pratesh.
The decisive moment came when Gauravaddo’s midfield sliced open Umtavaddo’s defense with a perfectly timed through-ball. Pratesh latched onto the pass, beat the offside trap with smart movement, and calmly slotted the ball past the advancing goalkeeper, leaving him with no chance.
Gauravaddo controlled possession for large spells of the game, dictating the tempo through their commanding midfield. Though they created multiple opportunities in the opening half, it was Pratesh’s composed finish that made the difference.
