Assault Case at Goan Shack in Candolim

Candolim: A shocking incident of abuse and assault has come to light at Goan Hut Shack in Candolim, Bardez, Goa. On October 12, 2024, at around midnight, Dr. Parvati Joshi, a resident of Landscape, Pinto Park, Campal, Panaji, Goa, and her friends, Dr. Rahul Coudhary and Dr. Narendra Singh Fenin, were allegedly abused and assaulted by the owner and staff of the shack.

The complainant alleged that the accused used filthy language and physically assaulted them with bamboo sticks, causing bleeding injuries. The incident reportedly occurred over a petty issue.

Following the complaint, Calangute Police Station registered a case (Cr No. 125/2024) under sections 352 and 118(1) r/w 3(5) of BNS 2023. Two accused individuals, Jitendra Singh (24) from Namjala, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, and Arun Kumar Vishvkarma (25) from Chauka, Janghai, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, were identified and apprehended.

The accused were arrested and brought to the police station, following all Supreme Court guidelines. Further investigation is currently underway.

This disturbing incident highlights concerns about safety and security at popular tourist destinations in Goa. The authorities must ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated and perpetrators are brought to justice.
