CM Pramod Sawant Attends 38th Rajbhasha Day Celebration, Highlights Government’s Commitment to Konkani Language

Panaji: On the occasion of the 38th Rajbhasha Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasized the government’s dedication to promoting the Konkani language and its rich literary heritage. Speaking at the Javpi Konkani Language – In the Service Meeting Programme, the CM acknowledged the contributions of Konkani scholars and assured continued support for the development of the language.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Kumud Sharma, Vice President of the Literature Academy, Delhi; Prasad Lolayankar, Raj Language Secretary, Government of Goa; Prashant Shirodkar, Director of the Raj Language Directorate; Vasant Sawant, Chairman (in-charge) of Goa Konkani Academy; and Parag Nagarsekar, among others.
As part of the celebration, the book “Konkani Sahitya and Language Seva” was officially released. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s efforts to support Konkani literature and encourage initiatives that promote the language. He also highlighted the Konkani Sevak Samman Award, which recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of Konkani.

Expressing gratitude, Manakal Jasawan appreciated the government’s commitment and thanked the authorities for their recognition. The workshop held as part of the event proved beneficial to all attendees, further strengthening efforts toward the preservation and development of Konkani.
