Minister Vishwajeet Rane Inaugurates National Emergency Skill Lab at GMC
Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane has announced the inauguration of the National Emergency Skill Lab at Goa Medical College & Hospital (GMC), marking a significant step towards enhancing emergency medical training in the state.

Speaking at the event, Minister Rane expressed his pleasure at the launch of this advanced facility, emphasizing its role in strengthening Goa’s healthcare system. The new lab is equipped with state-of-the-art simulation technology, designed to train healthcare professionals in life-saving emergency response techniques.
“This initiative will ensure that our doctors and medical staff at GMC are well-prepared to handle critical situations with efficiency and expertise. It reflects our continued commitment to improving medical education and emergency preparedness in Goa,” said Minister Rane.
The National Emergency Skill Lab is expected to play a crucial role in upskilling healthcare professionals, enabling them to deliver high-quality emergency care. Minister Rane highlighted that this initiative aligns with the vision of the Goa Model—a framework aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and enhancing patient care across the state.
Medical professionals and students at GMC welcomed the initiative, stating that access to advanced simulation-based training will significantly enhance their ability to manage medical emergencies effectively.
