CM Pramod Sawant Lays Foundation Stone for Key Development Projects in Mayem-Vainguinim
Mayem : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant laid the foundation stone for several crucial development projects in Mayem-Vainguinim, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure enhancement and community development. The event saw the presence of Mayem MLA Shri Premendra Shet, Zilla Panchayat (ZP) North Goa President Shri Shankar Chodankar, ZP Shri Mahesh Sawant, the Sarpanch of Mayem, and other dignitaries.
The projects inaugurated mark a significant milestone in improving the region’s infrastructure:
1. Conversion of 11KV Overhead Lines to Underground Cables – Aimed at enhancing power supply safety and reliability in Mayem.
2. Underground Cabling & Interlinking of 11KV Feeders – Strengthening the electricity network in Ona-Maulinguem-Kudchirem and interlinking Kudchirem and Karapur feeders for a more stable power supply.
3. Strengthening of MI Tank at Mayem – Infrastructure upgrades, including RCC lining, MS railing, and canal improvements, to support better water management in Bicholim Taluka.
4. Reconstruction of Sluice Gate & Strengthening of Vainguinim Khazan Bund – Essential restoration efforts to protect the region’s agricultural and ecological landscape.
5. Upgradation & Beautification of Shree Vithal Temple – Enhancing the temple’s surroundings to boost its spiritual and cultural significance in Vittalapur Karapur, Mayem Bicholim-Goa.
Speaking at the event, CM Pramod Sawant highlighted the government’s focus on holistic development, stating, “With Mayem emerging as a vibrant tourist destination, home to attractions like Mayem Lake and Shri Saptakoteshwar Temple, these initiatives will further improve infrastructure, boost tourism, and strengthen economic growth, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”
The projects underscore the government’s commitment to sustainable development, ensuring Mayem continues to thrive as a key destination in Goa’s growth trajectory.
