Honoring Shivaji Maharaj’s Naval Legacy : CM
Basrur : Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant attended the 360th Basrur Independence Day Celebration, commemorating Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s first naval expedition. The event, organized by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Abhimani Balaga, Basrur, highlighted the Maratha Navy’s historic achievements and its impact on Bharat’s maritime strength.
Speaking at the event, CM Sawant emphasized Shivaji Maharaj’s visionary role in revitalizing Bharat’s naval power. The successful Basrur expedition marked a turning point, firmly establishing the dominance of the Maratha Navy and strengthening the authority of the Basrur Nayaks over trade.

CM Sawant lauded the Indian Navy’s recent transformation, noting that its flag and insignia now draw inspiration from the Maratha Navy, aligning with the ‘Panch Pran’ vision of Viksit Bharat as envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
Extending his congratulations to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Abhimani Balaga, Basrur, CM Sawant praised their dedication to preserving and celebrating this glorious legacy, ensuring that future generations remain connected to Bharat’s rich naval history.
