Siolim São João Festival 2025 Celebrated with Cultural Fervour and Tourism Support
Siolim : The traditional São João Festival 2025 in Siolim was celebrated with vibrant energy, blending Goa’s rich heritage with festive cheer. Organised by the Siolim Boat Festival Committee in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, the event attracted dignitaries, locals, and tourists alike.
The celebrations began with an energetic performance by Johnny B Gud and Reza, setting the tone for the colourful boat parade. A key highlight was the Goa Tourism float showcasing tradition, family values, and community pride.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, praised Siolim’s cultural significance, reaffirming support for traditional festivals under the “Goa Beyond Beaches” initiative. Also present were MLAs Smt. Delilah Lobo and Shri Michael Lobo, Fr. Succor Mendes, and other tourism officials.
Cultural performances, folk dances, and musical acts by The Clay Jars, BBC, and Rosario kept the festive mood alive. Traditional boats, kopel contests, and spot prizes added to the excitement. Contributors like Dr. Sachin, Dr. Noel, and Albert were felicitated, while virtual kopel contest winners were honoured.
The event concluded with prize announcements and cheers, reinforcing Siolim’s role as a vibrant cultural heart of Goa.
