Mbappe Set for Real Madrid Debut in Club World Cup Clash vs Juventus

Kylian Mbappe is likely to make his much-anticipated Club World Cup debut for Real Madrid on Tuesday when they face Juventus in the last 16 at the Hard Rock Stadium. The France forward, who missed all three group games due to acute gastroenteritis, is expected to feature, according to head coach Xabi Alonso.

“It’s a big possibility,” Alonso said, also confirming the returns of Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao from injury. “At this decisive stage, everyone has an important role.”

Alonso, recently appointed, emphasised building a unified team: “We want a team that works as one. Our collective strength will allow individual talents like Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrigo, and Bellingham to shine.”

Juventus coach Igor Tudor acknowledged the tough draw but remained optimistic. “We’re here to compete, not just prepare. We must believe and be flawless.”

Tudor praised Madrid’s new tactical setup under Alonso, likening it to his Leverkusen style, while noting some exploitable weaknesses.

The winner will face either Borussia Dortmund or Monterrey, who meet Tuesday in Atlanta.
